The world is a stage, but the real action happens behind the scenes.
Real change in our lives occurs not by the actions we take but by the energetic changes and growth in our inner lives.
Our imagination is one of many portals to the spirit realm where energetic shifts occur. Other portals include prayer, artistic expression and meditation. For this post I will be focusing on ways you can make real change in your life by tapping into your boundless imagination. Trust, faith and loving intentions are key to working in this way.
Here are a few different exercises:
- Conflict Resolution: Is there a person in your life you wish to confront? As a native New Yorker I relish the occasional confrontation-especially when I perceive an injustice in the world. On the other hand, I find the most powerful work happens through visualization. Picture yourself and the person sitting at a table. I like to imagine something professional such as a conference room, because for me that represents boundaries. Say what you need to say. Likely you two have some sort of contract that you are ready to let go of. Picture you and this person reading, signing and then tearing up the contract. Send them light, acknowledge you respect their path and say goodbye.
- Releasing a Burden: There are people and situations in our lives that have the potential to drain us energetically. While you may try to avoid the person/situation I suggest you face it in a safe space. Imagine yourself in a store with a shopping basket. As you go through the store instead of picking up products you are picking up emotions (such as resentment and guilt) and putting them in your basket. Feel your basket getting heavier. Leave the store, then visualize yourself walking up to the person/situation and setting down the heavy basket. Picture light pouring over the person/situation, the emotions in a basket and you. Turn around and watch yourself walking away.
- Achieving a Goal: This one can be simple, although we often feel we have to keep busy all the time to succeed. I suggest trying to take less action and allow more feeling. Feel like you have already achieved your goal. Pay attention to your breath and have faith.
As in all these exercises, I suggest calling in help. Personally, I find working with the Archangels very effective. Make sure to thank them!
Please know by doing this work you are helping us all by bringing more light into the world. However you go about making shifts in your life, intention is key.
I would love to hear from you and learn of any visualizations you use!

I love this post. I will keep it in mind and try it.
Thank you so much!
These are great exercises, and will definitely file for future reference. The Conflict Resolution tool maybe sooner rather than later. One I learnt as a stress management technique half a lifetime ago is the big balloon – a creative visualisation technique where you place all your stress in the basket of a hot air balloon and off it flys. For some reason, it just works for me.
I love that balloon idea! I will try that sometime. Thank you for letting me know. Best wishes-Julie
As usual, Julie, wonderful post. I so love your concrete advice and ideas. Visualization is so powerful and sometimes I forget just to turn whatever I’m needing over to the Divine. And I love the Archangels. Michael’s my favorite!
Hugs,
Cathy
Thank you Cathy! I love Michael too.
You are so creative, I bet you have many variations of this and I’m sure you are connecting through your photography. Lots of love-Julie
you are beautiful. thank you for sharing this – it is TRULY AMAZING what we can manifest behind the scenes. i’ve been witness to this in a negative way – but now every day i make the effort to visualize things as you’ve described them {in my own way} and so far the outcome has been incredible. i’ve been told to call in michael when i smudge sage, but i figure he’s too busy – do they really come when you call them? are there certain words or yoga poses i can do beforehand?!
Oh Audrey thank you! It just makes me happy knowing you are out there.
Your work visualizing is truly beautiful. The angels really come in whenever and how often you call them. I would suggest establishing and formally closing the connection each time. I’m not sure about yoga–but any grounding activity is always beneficial. Love & Light-Julie
What a lovely site. Very nurturing. Thank you Julie for following my blog.
On a daily basis I like to use the Violet Flame decree ( you probably already know about this):
” I am a being of Golden ,Silver, Violet, flame ,
I am the purity God desires” ,
I invoke the presence of Archangel Zadkiel and St Germain and I visualise beautiful violet & Lavender flames with streaks of gold (light of angels) and silver (the light of grace) burning all throughout my aura and my body,
This decree can be used to purify our own Karma and we can also use it to help clear any issues that may exist in our lives, It can also be used to clear the Earth and all sentient beings.
Have you ever tried this?
Dear Veronique–I have never heard of this beautiful meditation. It feels very powerful to me. Thank you for sharing it with me and anyone else that is supposed to see it. Sending you my best wishes–I look forward to following your blog. Blessings-Julie
What a great post, with some wonderful suggestions. One thing that I do to make my intentions known and focused upon is to write them down and tape them to my mirror, so I see them every day. And every so often I find I need to update my list, or joyfully cross off something that has manifested. This has been a great exercise for me, helping me to keep the energy moving on that which I desire.
That is a fantastic idea and what fun when you get to cross one off! Warm wishes-Julie
