Going Higher Through Intention

Often the most effective solutions in life are the simplest. This can be difficult to accept because a lot of us are programmed to believe we must work hard to achieve.IMG_2953

Making a change can be as easy as setting an intention.

Are you struggling with an issue in your life? Is there something you would like to change? Set the intention to go higher.

“I intend to rise above” is a simple, yet powerfully transforming affirmation.

A lot of my clients are currently working on issues around ego. It seems to be the theme these days. If you have an ego related issue–affirm to yourself you will rise above it. Even if the intention does not feel strong, you will begin to shift your thinking.

The behaviors we don’t rise above keep us working in the lower energies. Even more so-they keep us separate from others when we are all connected. Examples of lower energies are fear, jealously, and holding anger.

Is there someone you are in conflict with? Send them light. You called them here so your can work out and heal an issue of your own. Intend to rise above the situation. You will feel better and the charge between you will begin to decrease.

Be More You

If you are on this earth you have a purpose and that purpose is to be you. Becoming more you is not self-indulgent navel gazing. When you live your authentic life you help heal the IMG_3487world. There is tremendous beauty and personal power that comes along when you decide to be more you. It may seem overwhelming, but once you make the decision you will feel a sweet release. The more you are you, the less you have to worry and the healthier you will be in every way. The result is freedom.

Here is a guide to becoming more you:

  • Celebrate your birthday. As we get older we tend to celebrate our birthdays less and less. I feel the longer we are here the more we should mark the occasion! Set the intention to have a joyful day. Plan it in advance if you need to. Invite your friends and allow them to treat you. Have as much fun as possible!
  • Surround yourself with supportive people. Not everyone in our life is going to “get” us. Some of my oldest and dearest friends have no idea of what I do, but they love and support me unconditionally. They don’t have to understand you–but they do need to support you.
  • Come out, come out whoever you are! Whoever it is you feel you need to be–whatever it is you need to do–do it now! You are feeling that need for a reason and it should be respected. Listen to that inner voice.
  • Be you as much as possible. There are times we can’t fully be ourselves for various reasons. Lessen those times. Examine if you really need to hide who you are in certain situations. Likely there are times that you could be more you but think you won’t be accepted. You may be surprised. The less you compartmentalize the better.
  • Speak your truth. Be authentic. 
  • Don’t try to meet people where they are. This is a common trait especially for healers– we often automatically tune in and meet people’s needs. Don’t meet people where you think they are. Let go and let the situation flow organically.
  • Find quiet moments. It is through quiet reflection and living in the moment we find who we really are.

Accepting Where We Are vs. Challenging Ourselves

A spiritual issue many are working through right now is this: should I push myself to meet my goals or be happy in the present moment? 

Are my hidden beliefs getting in my own way? Or should I work on accepting what is in my life right now?

Many of you have recently worked through or are presently working on deep issues around self-confidence and personal power. You are finally coming into your own, accepting yourself and beginning the journey of realizing your full potential. You are ready to make it happen and feel that time is now. You see the success of others and wonder why you are not there yet. You wonder if you are going back to that old emotion of feeling undeserving.

On the other hand, you realize how blessed and fortunate you are in so many ways. Perhaps you are not ready yet. Perhaps the lesson is learning to just be in the moment, appreciating the bounty of everyday life. Maybe it is not the most auspicious time to meet that special someone or you don’t yet have the energy to grow your business.

These are questions many of you are asking yourself in one form or another. I can help you in a reading to work through these issues and assist you in connecting with your own inner guidance that holds the answers.

No matter the path you decide to take, I hope these suggestions help:

  • Do not compare yourself to others.
  • Take life one day at a time. Visualize how you want your day to unfold. New, unseen opportunities will reveal themselves.
  • Everything you do–do in the spirit of lovingkindness.
  • Breathe and center yourself. It will uplift you and the others around you.
  • If it feels forced, if you feel even a little resentment…don’t do it.

Above all, please remember you cannot make a wrong choice or take the wrong path.

Help Another Today

Last night I had a dream that I was lost on a highway with three children in my car. It was terrifying to feel to helpless with three little ones depending on me. My GPS, which I rely on heavily was not working. Getting lost is a real emotional trigger for me–I never fully felt comfortable driving until I had a GPS to count on.

This morning on my walk I was stopped a couple of times by a lost delivery person seeking assistance for different addresses. He could not speak English and was extremely grateful for my help.

It really is a beautiful gift to be able to help another human being in a small, effortless way. Being lost is a such a huge anxiety trigger for me, and it felt so healing to be able to assist another.

Our culture is all about name recognition, movers and shakers and people that are defined as successful. In other words, people know they make a difference. But truly, it is the small acts of kindness that uplift us all.

Especially if we are feeling lost and directionless, helping another in any way, gives us an energy buzz. This wonderful feeling is telling us we are serving our purpose.

Working Energetically Behind the Scenes

The world is a stage, but the real action happens behind the scenes. 

Real change in our lives occurs not by the actions we take but by the energetic changes and growth in our inner lives.

Our imagination is one of many portals to the spirit realm where energetic shifts occur. Other portals include prayer, artistic expression and meditation. For this post I will be focusing on ways you can make real change in your life by tapping into your boundless imagination. Trust, faith and loving intentions are key to working in this way.

Here are a few different exercises:

  • Conflict Resolution: Is there a person in your life you wish to confront? As a native New Yorker I relish the occasional confrontation-especially when I perceive an injustice in the world. On the other hand, I find the most powerful work happens through visualization. Picture yourself and the person sitting at a table. I like to imagine something professional such as a conference room, because for me that represents boundaries. Say what you need to say. Likely you two have some sort of contract that you are ready to let go of. Picture you and this person reading, signing and then tearing up the contract. Send them light, acknowledge you respect their path and say goodbye.
  • Releasing a Burden: There are people and situations in our lives that have the potential to drain us energetically. While you may try to avoid the person/situation I suggest you face it in a safe space. Imagine yourself in a store with a shopping basket. As you go through the store instead of picking up products you are picking up emotions (such as resentment and guilt) and putting them in your basket. Feel your basket getting heavier. Leave the store, then visualize yourself walking up to the person/situation and setting down the heavy basket. Picture light pouring over the person/situation, the emotions in a basket and you. Turn around and watch yourself walking away.
  • Achieving a Goal: This one can be simple, although we often feel we have to keep busy all the time to succeed. I suggest trying to take less action and allow more feeling. Feel like you have already achieved your goal. Pay attention to your breath and have faith.

As in all these exercises, I suggest calling in help. Personally, I find working with the Archangels very effective. Make sure to thank them!

Please know by doing this work you are helping us all by bringing more light into the world. However you go about making shifts in your life, intention is key.

Releasing What Is Not Ours

I heard if you plant different kinds of mint leaves near each other, they all eventually morph into the same type. For me this brings to mind how natural it is to take on the energy of others. We often grow and change in response to what is happening around us.

Living in the world it is expected to take on the energy of others, as we are so connected and so alike in so many ways. Some of us though, take on more than others.

I was very careful with the wording of the title of this post. I did not write “what we don’t need” or “what we don’t want”. When we take on the energy of others, on some level we are claiming ownership.

So how do you know when this is happening and more importantly: how do you release it?

There are many possible signs you are taking on other’s energy in a way that doesn’t serve you including but not limited to:

  • Exhaustion
  • Stomach upset
  • Feeling like you want to escape
  • Social anxiety
  • Feeling extremely hungry when you have eaten enough

Being open in this way is often related to hidden belief and invisible debts.  In a phone reading I can work with you in finding and releasing how this behavior pattern is affecting you personally, as we all have our own very unique reasons and life experiences.

The first and most important step is realizing you have this issue and setting the intention to release it. As always, I recommend a daily practice of grounding. In this practice, include a body scan and ask for help in releasing what does not serve you. Go about it playfully. It is also interesting to “look” at your energetic field and see what is being thrown at you.

Let’s Manifest: Create Your Day

A simple step towards healthier living is creating vibrant thoughts and positive mental images. Successful manifesting comes from seeing results. Take small steps to build your confidence in manifesting. This confidence is essentially faith and trust in the process. 

Start by creating your day. In the morning think about how you would like your day to go. Review your trigger points. For example: are you anxious about getting to work on time? Visualize yourself calmly and easily getting to work. Think of an affirmation: I will get to work easily. Try manifesting for every aspect of your day. It will keep you mindful and present in the moment. When you are getting dressed affirm you will look and feel great. As you eat-focus on your food and remind yourself that the food is nourishing you.

I also suggest larger affirmations for the day:

  • My happiness comes from the inside.
  • My life is easy and full of fun.
  • The little things make me happy.
  • I am full of energy.
  • I am magnetized to beautiful experiences.

You are getting assistance so remember to practice gratitude along the way.

Messages from My Guides

My Guides have been really aggressive in getting information to me today. I don’t think it’s any accident that a bag of frozen vegetables fell on my head! I wanted to pass on the information that came through in case it will be useful to my readers:

  • If you are not stretching, you are not taking care of yourself.
  • You must get rid of anything not in use. I want you to focus on unwanted gifts. If you choose to keep these gifts they will drain you as you are agreeing to take on unwanted energy.
  • You are sitting too much! Stand up more than you sit and while you are at it go barefoot.
  • Trusting your inner voice is essential in becoming more intuitive.
  • Be gentle with yourself and others.

Let’s Manifest: Ask For It Out Loud

Manifesting is a powerful tool at your disposal to bring you closer to your goals faster and more efficiently.

I would define manifesting as a combination of faith, intention and mindful action.

Below is an exercise for seasoned and beginning manifesters alike: ask for it out loud. It is my belief that spoken words carry a strong vibration, more so than inward thoughts. There are times when we think we want something but when we check in with ourselves we find we really don’t.  We all also carry hidden beliefs about how deserving we are.  When you ask for something out loud you will realize how badly you want something or how worthy you feel. You will then get much closer to what you want by owning your desires and speaking them clearly.

Try it:

  1. Think of something you want
  2. Ask for it out loud
  3. Ask for it louder
  4. Now ask for it with more feeling
  5. Ask for it loud and with feeling three times

Notice how the vibration of the request has already changed?

I feel strongly guided to reiterate how important it is to own and feel deserving of the life you want. As always, when you reach your goal express gratitude.

Losing a “Good” Thing

There is an old blues song that begins with the line “If you should lose me…you’ll lose a good thing.” The song is about a bad relationship and the singer is making a painful plea for it to continue.

We may find something not working in our lives, but like an insistent lover it begs for us to hold on.

In phone readings I channel information and relay to my clients what is currently unhealthy for them. Most often the response is “I know”. They are calling for confirmation but also with the small hope I will tell them it is not what they think it is. This is easy for me to identify with as I have been in the situation many times.

As I stated in my first blog post, the hurting known appears more comfortable than the healthy unknown. Why is this? Us humans seem to be naturally resistant to change. It feels related to our self-preservation instincts. But in order to evolve, in order to grow we must change.

Change can be scary, but it is usually positive. As a wise elder once told me: “At my age, any change is good.”

Lose a “good” thing and make room for something in your life that is fresh, surprising and better.
